The SBIRT App for Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment for substance use offers users comprehensive guidance for conducting SBIRT interventions with patients or clients. It is specifically tailored for utilization by physicians, healthcare professionals, and mental health experts, catering to individuals aged 12 and above.

Providing evidence-based inquiries, the app facilitates screening for alcohol, drug, and tobacco consumption. Users can access a screening tool for a more detailed evaluation of specific substance use if necessary. Moreover, the app outlines procedures for delivering brief interventions and making referrals to treatment utilizing motivational interviewing techniques.

Featuring three distinct screening tools for substance use, the app incorporates the CRAFFT assessment for adolescents, the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) for adult alcohol use evaluation, and the Drug Abuse Screening Test (DAST) designed for adult drug use assessment.

Developed under a SAMHSA-funded grant project hosted at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), the SBIRT App demonstrates a commitment to evidence-based practice and professional intervention standards.
